WHAT YOU GET INSIDE
Our Community Events
Each month our events are informed by a theme.
JUNE 2026 THEME:
Come As You Are
Voice & Movement Warm-Ups
Think of our warm-ups like class options on a fitness studio schedule. We do not expect you to attend each session (though youâre certainly welcome to!).
Warm-ups aren't recorded. We want you to feel comfortable moving and making sound (and maybe even making silly faces!) without worrying that someone's going to be watching you later.

Speak-Your-Truth Workshop
A workshop where we use the Voice Body Connection Process as a spring-board for understanding how to speak our truth in challenging situations in our life. Receive coaching from Elissa to navigate your life with more embodiment, honesty, and expression.
This month: Tuesday June 9th from 12:30-1:30pm Eastern Time.
 Recorded & replay available
Sing-Along
Everyone is welcome at our sing-alongs... singers and 'non-singers' alike. Singing is simply the sustaining of sound, and it's your birthright to use your voice! You'll be invited to sing with your camera on or off, and at most times everyone except Elissa will be on mute.
This month: Wednesday, June 24 from 7â8pm Eastern Time, led by Elissa.
 Recorded & replay available

Why we do this
If we havenât met, Iâm Elissa. Hi!
I became a voice teacher because of my own vocal challenges. So I know how important it is to keep up with my exercises and my warm-ups.
But I have a habit of skipping my warm-ups, and even ignoring the time Iâve scheduled on my calendar for my personal practice.
Eventually, I realized itâs way easier to show up for myself when Iâm not doing it alone. Iâve learned that accountability helps me show up and focus, and familiar faces make it fun!
So I created the Voice Body Connection Community! If you, too, could use support prioritizing your vocal practice, I hope youâll join us!
JOIN THE COMMUNITY NOWTHE BENEFITS OF PARTICIPATING IN THE
Voice Body Connection Community
Strengthen your voice and body:Â The voice & movement practices we do are gentle exercises that build neuromuscular connectivity, agility, and strength. Youâll get your breath moving, your blood circulating, and your voice flowing.
Remove blockages:Â A vocal practice is about "clearing the pipes." Vocalizing moves energy, emotion, and experience through your system, so you feel less blocked.
Support your cognitive health: Making sound and singing with others is good for your brain. Scientific studies suggest that music can mitigate the impacts of aging by increasing cognitive reserve.
Communicate better with others: We practice communication with each other so that we can communicate more effectively in the challenging situations of our lives.
Be accountable for doing your vocal care: If you're having trouble finding the time to do your vocal practice, you'll have the accountability to show up and practice with all of us. This is especially valuable for folks dealing with vocal fatigue or muscle tension dysphonia.
Have fun: Using your voice is meant to be a joyful experience! Weâre here to promote self-expression, liberation, and fun. Fair warning: sometimes things get a little goofy, too!
PEOPLE WHO HAVE A REGULAR PRACTICE OF MOVING & MAKING SOUND REPORT FEELING CLEARER, MORE ENERGIZED, AND MORE AUTHENTICALLY CONNECTED TO OTHERS IN THEIR DAY-TO-DAY LIVES.
My understanding of my voice, my body, and my mind (and how all three are interrelated) has deepened exponentially in this space. I had no idea just how much pain and trauma I was holding on to, or how understanding and releasing that pain would free my voice and heart. What we are doing here is so much more than physical - itâs soul work! I literally feel like I can breathe again, I can sing again, my chronic pain and anxiety have faded away, and Iâm at last coming home to myself, and to my voice.
I have gained valuable insights into the relationship between voice, body, and mind while working with Elissa and her team. Having a voice disorder - spasmodic dysphonia - keeping my voice healthy has been particularly challenging for me. Being a part of this community helped me feel more connected, confident, and accepting of myself.

What is the Voice Body Connection Process?
The Voice Body Connection Process⢠is the core framework of our community.
The process helps us come up with a clear, genuine answer to the question âHow am I feeling right now?â
As we practice tuning in, we become more connected to our embodied experience, and we can understand ourselves better, and share more authentically with others.
When you enroll in the community for the first time, youâll get access to the Voice Body Connection Process core training, a short online class that covers these seven steps: Sensation, Stimulus, Emotion, Desirect, Presence, Expression, and Communication.
Sensation
What is one of the strongest sensations I'm feeling right now?
Stimulus
Why do I think I'm feeling this sensation? What might be the stimulus?
3
Emotion
What are my emotions about noticing all of this?Â
Desire
Do I have any desires related to everything I'm noticing?

Access to a warm, supportive community of voice practitioners
I live in Taos, New Mexico. I live alone and enjoy my own company which can sometimes tip towards isolating, so I am very grateful for this community. I look forward to our regular sessions, feeling as if I have playmates waiting for me. We spend a brief time together but I always feel improvements afterwards (sometimes it feels as if I've just enjoyed a full body massage) and of course I appreciate including sound, and sometimes song. I'm learning more about how to use different movements and techniques throughout the day. Each of the teachers are kind, warm, welcoming, often funny, and obviously very knowledgeable. I deeply appreciate learning in such a playful, fun space and for being part of this special community.
I came into the community expecting a good, but not radically impactful experience. I was wrong. I only attended one or two of the warm-ups per week. Maybe 6 in total. However, the impact for such little investment was amazing. I came away with a subtle but deep shift in how I process emotions. The warm-ups gave me an embodied knowledge of what emotion feels like for me, allowed me to reflect more deeply, and be less reactive to surrounding circumstances. I didn't even realize how much had shifted until I was reflecting and realizing my reactions to a situation were very different from when I'd started. I will be continuing to work with the Voice Body Connection team whenever they have communities with warm-ups!
